About the facilitator

Harel Gal, born in 1977, is a music therapist (M.A), and a musician from Israel. Harel started to gain therapeutic experience 12 years ago when finishing his shiatsu and other alternative medicine studies. Over the years, he has developed in both the musical and therapeutic fields, completing his B.A in music education and M.A in music therapy.

Harel has undergone several sound based therapy workshops in Israel and abroad and researched this field through self-exploration. Over the years he has combined the singing bowls and the monochord in his therapeutic work as a music therapist with different populations, currently working in a hospital in Israel. Harel has facilitated sound meditation workshops in Israel with a variety of populations and sound therapy courses in South Africa.

As part of his M.A studies, Harel did first of its kind research in Israel which explored the experiences of adults with mental disorders and intellectual disabilities, in group sound meditation sessions. In his workshops and lectures, Harel combines his passion for music, sound and therapy to convey an experience which is both inspiring and beneficial.
